Just a quick thought that helped me so much today. It comes from a really old Bible translation that means to just let go of displeasure. Put with the verse that tells us to put aside every weight that hinders, it seems quite appropriate for today for me.
We know that we need to forgive when wrong happens and others fail. We know we need to repent when we fail and receive forgiveness. Sometimes we have to work hard to take those two steps. Worth every effort!!!
I also want to practice: letting go of displeasure. Letting go of those little things that just are sources of displeasure – whether it’s as simple as rude driver’s honking to small arguments to children misbehavior. We are constantly bombarded by displeasure. But, I’m not sure we are constantly aware of the need for efforts to let it go. Some people seem to do that more easily than others. Each of us stand on our own strengths and weaknesses. What ever those may be in your life, add this strength to your wheelhouse – and model adding strengths before your children.
You will bless those children another strength in life as well as help your home be more drama free. (Besides making your own life, more pleasant and, yes, more powerful!) Form more help on reducing drama, follow this link.
