May brings with it so many emotions. Mother’s Day – memories, joys, heart-aches, so many feelings. Then there is Graduation! Marking the end of one stage and announcing the beginning of the next. From Kindergarten to High School and College – joys and tears! Make the most of the moment to pour into your child no matter what you are feeling!
If you are blessed to be celebrating a graduation with one of your children or grandchildren, I hope you can see it as just that – a celebration! A celebration of the life and accomplishments of your child. There are definitely moments when tears will come and are very appropriate. It’s okay to cry and clap! Let your child see you express your feelings!
Try to let struggles and conflicts go so that they do not over-shadow this moment in the life of your child – and in your own life! Make sure you tell her and show her that you are proud of her. If you struggle with words, find the card or cards that say what you really feel and let her know that they are your words. We don’t have that many moments in life to truly celebrate. Take advantage of this moment. Make it memorable!
